BLAKELY ISLAND BLAKELY ISLAND is unique among Washington State's San Juan Islands. This 4700 acre island, the largest of the non-ferry served islands in San Juan County, offers you a wealth of quality amenities not found on other islands in this marvelous archipelago. Owners have perpetual easement access to many miles of backroads and two pristine 70 acre freshwater lakes which are located in 3000+ acres of exceptional forestland. Fish, swim and boat, often completely by yourself. This incredible forest area is protected by several conservation easements that severely limit future development, thus insuring that Blakely will retain its unspoiled natural beauty for future generations. No other island has this kind of protection from development over such a vast area of land, provides for owner access, and forbids public access. Blakely has the only surfaced, lighted runway in the islands which is strictly for private use. The mail is delivered by air Monday through Saturday and UPS weekly. There is a great general store at the Blakely Island Marina, which is one of the finest in all the San Juan Islands. Some of the numerous amenities provided to owners include community caretakers, abundant potable water, complete recycling center, all private roads insuring no public access, first class runway and marina, post office, tennis court, 100+ acres of commonly owned greenbelt, firehouse and related equipement, mainland power, fiberoptic telephone equipment, and air and watertaxi service to the mainland and other islands. Call or e-mail me and I will send you my Blakely brochure which will give you more insight into Blakely's lifestyle.
